Terms and Conditions


This Promotion is only open to classes from registered Primary Schools in the Republic of Ireland (CLASS), excluding any employees of the Promoter, their families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the Promotion.

By entering the Promotion, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules. All entry instructions form part of the rules.

In order to enter the Promotion, the Class Teacher must first fully register Class participation at www.Woodies.ie/budding-gardeners and the Promotion is limited to one entry per Class.

Entrants must provide a valid email address and telephone number when registering and these details will be used to contact the winning Classes.

Grand Prizes: There is one Junior Cycle (Junior Infants, Senior Infants, First Class & Second
Class) Prize and one Senior Cycle (Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Class) Prize available to be won. Each Prize will be awarded directly to the School and consists of a €2,000 cheque for the school.

Secondary Prizes: There are two additional prizes of €100 Woodie’s Gift Cards available to be won.

Grand Prize winners will be chosen by an independent judging panel, from all entrants who submit photographs of or the physical copies of their three Project Planning Sheets to be received no later than 10th June 2023.

Secondary Prize winners will be chosen by an independent judging panel, from all entrants who submit a photo of their Project Planning Sheet to be received no later than 10th April and 10th May 2023 respectively.

The opening date for Class Registration is 1 st February 2023.

Starter Packs containing printed project materials and a Woodie’s Gift Card will be sent to the first 2,000 Entrants, or while stocks last. The Promoter takes no responsibility for delivery and any Starter Packs lost, delayed or missing will not be replaced under any circumstances.

Entrants not receiving a Starter Pack may download all necessary project materials from www.Woodies.ie/budding-gardeners

Closing date for receipt of all Secondary Prize entries is midnight 10th April & 10th May 2023.

Closing date for receipt of all Grand Prize entries is midnight 10th June 2023.

Grand Prize Winners will be contacted from 13 th June 2023 onwards via the email address or telephone number provided at registration. All reasonable effort will be made to contact each winner, however, if any prizes are not claimed within ten days of initial contact the prize will be deemed to be forfeited and an alternative winner may be selected without notice.

Winners may be required to participate in publicity without further recompense. This may include the taking of photographs and film of the Winner(s) that will belong to and may be used in promotional material by the Promoter. Further, the Winner's consent that their images and/or likeness may be used by Promoter for the purposes of promotional activity and activations on any digital, printed or broadcast media platforms.

The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss, damage or consequential damage of any nature in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise caused by acceptance of the terms and conditions or in connection with any prize (except to the extent that death or any personal injury occurs as a result of the negligence of the Promoter).

The Promoter shall not be liable for any issues whatsoever with respect to any prize once dispatched to the winner and the Promoter accepts no responsibility in relation to the winners’ conduct or their guests’ conduct once the prize is claimed by the winner.

The prizes are as stated, they are non-transferable, non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for any cash alternatives in whole or in part.

Incomplete entries or those not in accordance with the entry instructions will not be accepted and the Promoter reserves the right to remove, edit or disqualify any entry, at their sole discretion, if for any reason, it is believed to be incongruent with these terms & conditions.

By submitting an entry, you grant the Promoter a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty free, sub-licensable and transferable licence to use, reproduce, distribute, and make derivative works of your entry in any media and through any media channel.

The entry shall be the entrants own work and by entering the Promotion each entrant warrants that their entry shall not have been previously published or exploited in any part and will not infringe any copyright, right of privacy, right of publicity or personality or any other right whatsoever of any third party.

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries not received or for undelivered or delayed messages which were unable to be sent due to network coverage, technical failure or any other reason beyond its control. No responsibility will be accepted by the Promoter for failed, partial or garbled computer transmissions, for any computer, telephone, cable, network, electronic or internet hardware or software malfunctions, failures, connections, availability, for the acts or omissions of any service provider, internet, accessibility or availability or for traffic congestion or unauthorised human act.

The Promoter does not warrant that any use of or access to the website will be uninterrupted by error or virus free nor will it have any liability for damage caused by hostile software which may infect an entrant's equipment or property as a result of that participant using or browsing the website www.Woodies.ie.

The Promoter’s decision is final in all matters pertaining to the Promotion and no negotiations or correspondence with entrants will be entered into.

If cheating, a virus, bug, catastrophic event, or any other unforeseen or unexpected event that cannot be reasonably anticipated or controlled, (also referred to as force majeure) is suspected or affects the fairness and/or integrity of this Promotion, the Promotor reserves the right to cancel, change or suspend this Promotion. This right is reserved whether the event is due to human or technical error. If a solution cannot be found to restore the integrity of the Promotion, the Promoter reserves the right to select winners from among all eligible entries received before the cancellation, change or suspension of the Promotion

Personal details that an entrant supplies during the application process will be processed by the Promoter with appropriate confidentiality and in line with Woodie’s Privacy Policy available at https://www.Woodies.ie/privacy-and-security. The Promoter may also keep records of any correspondence which it has with Entrants. Other than as stated at the point of collection, no personal details will be divulged to anyone or any organisation outside of Woodie’s, its data processors, partners, or service providers. The entrant undertakes that, to the extent that they have supplied or supplies personal details, they have obtained the necessary consents to permit Woodie’s, its data processors, partners, or service providers, to use their personal data for the purposes of the Promotion.

The Promoter will retain personal data for the period of 12 months from the closing date of the Promotion and may use the personal details supplied for the following purposes: (i) to help manage and administer the Promotion and improve the way it is run; (ii) to communicate with entrants in relation to this and future Budding Gardener promotions (iii) where specific consent has been given, at registration, to provide entrants with relevant tailored marketing communications offers by email, SMS, or post.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by Irish law and the courts of the Republic of Ireland shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
